Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another? (Mt 11:3)
We're in the Third week of Advent... this is our week of Joy! Yet, for many, there is no joy to be found as we count down to our Savior‘s birth. There are so many distractions, so many trials... countless ways to take our focus from the true meaning of this season.
As John the Baptist sat in prison, I wonder if this was a dark time for him, a time of questioning his purpose. Was his work in vain? Where was the promised Messiah?
John sent his disciples to Jesus with this question, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”
Jesus’ response: “Go and tell John what you hear and see.” (Mt 11:4)
What do you hear and see? Have you opened your ears and eyes and heart to the truth of who Jesus is?
Beloved, there is no need to look for another... Jesus is the Promised One, the Son of the Most High, the reason for our hope and joy!
