Be made clean...

The life of a leper must have been hard!
They were ostracized, declared unclean and probably avoided and considered cursed. Despite the requirements of the law, a leper approached Jesus and asked for healing- knelt right down before Him, and begged Jesus to make him clean (Mk 1:40-45). He must have been desperate, lonely, tired of being unclean, scabbed, disfigured...
Jesus was moved with pity for the man- He was willing to reach out to him, to touch him, to heal him.
Scabs and scars aren't always visible on the outside. Sometimes, a crust forms over wounds that have not completely healed... Jesus is still willing to take what is unclean and make it clean; still waiting for us to come before Him and ask for His touch, for His words of forgiveness and healing. And the thing is, He doesn't just give... He gives lavishly; His giving overflows. When we allow Jesus to touch our lives, to touch our hurts and scars, His love will radically transform us. And from the overflow, we are able to give to others; and yes, we tell others- we spread the Good News of His healing love to others. There's no stopping the love and joy that flows from a grateful heart...
