We cannot please everyone... Accept it and move on!
We rely so often on the fallible, flawed opinion of man, instead of focusing on what God has to say about us. And honestly... what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, if in the process, he loses his soul?
Even Jesus could not please everyone! Today, in Matthew's gospel, we read:
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said,
‘He is possessed by a demon.’
The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said,
‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard,
a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ ( Mt 11:18-19 )
Let me remind you, using Saint Paul's words to the Ephesians:
For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them. ( Eph 2:10 )
You have been specially made, carefully formed by the hand of your Creator. The One who made you, knows you and loves better than any other...
