You invited me to dance,
To take Your hand, to let You lead,
To sway this way and that…
To let the music play.
But I could not hear!
My ear had grown accustomed to the noise,
The lies, the voices that despise the truth.
Are You truly, joyfully singing over me?
And I could not see,
Could not lift my face to You,
Beyond the seen, above the problems
That looked bigger, sadder… beyond me.
“Ah”, You said, “give it all to Me;
That’s the point of the dance you see.
I’ll lead, I’ll sing, I’ll teach your feet the way.
Just say the word.”
So I took Your Hand and leaned in close
And sighed, and shut my eyes…
And I cried, for I feel and hear and see
You dance this dance with me.
